America: The Jewish Journey will be a film that tells the three part story of I) Jewish life in the old country, II) the reasons behind leaving their respective homes and journeying to the US and III) both the establishment of communities and the great accomplishments made in the US.

This film will include interviews from both experts and people who immigrated themselves. They will be interwoven throughout the narrative to allow the viewer to contextualize the history with emotion, humanity, and passion. They will come from three different groups:

  1. Those who lived in in the old country. From the Ashkenazi to the Sephardic, what was life like before they came to America?

  2. The descendants of people from these lands who know the “old country” from their parents we will find those who are strong characters with powerful storytelling skills.

  3. A peppering of experts such as academics and writers to add color, context and history.

The story of the Jews has always been a journey, moving from land to land for millennia and never finding a permanent home. The question is -- will America be the final stop?
