New Podcast Takes A Look At The History of The Electric City

Posted by Erika Funke on

Electric lights lit up the city of Scranton for the first time in 1880. And now 2 regional historians are shining a light on that particular place in time in a new podcast titled, "Been Lit: The Hidden History of the Electric City."

Glynis Johns is founder of the Black Scranton Project and an adjunct professor at St. John's University in NY.  E. J. Murphy is a teacher at the Howard Gardner Multiple Intelligence Charter School in Scranton and a staff member working with children at the Waverly Community House. They paid a visit to the VIA studios to talk with Erika Funke about their online project. You can find them online at blackscranton.com/beenlit.
