WVIA sells broadband signal in Spectrum Auction.

Beginning on _____ __ 2017, WVIA television viewers will need to rescan their television sets to view WVIA. With federal guidelines looking to free up some of the over the air bandwidth nationally WVIA will be giving up it’s current over-the-air frequency of 44.1, 44.2 and 44.3 and moving to ___ ___ ___. The previous bandwidth will be given to first responder units to help with emergency situations. This move comes after the federal government held a spectrum auction in which stations carrying over-the-air broadcast signals were vetted and bought based off of need and demand. WVIA will be sharing it’s new over the air signal with local ABC affiliate WNEP television.
