WVIA-TV’s “Scholastic Scrimmage” is coming to Williamsport

PITTSTON, Pa. – WVIA-TV’s “Scholastic Scrimmage” will be taped on-location in Williamsport, PA for the first time on March 9 and 10, 2016 at Penn College of Technology.
WVIA will tape episodes of it’s popular Scholastic Scrimmage series which features students in grades 9-12 competing for their school in teams of 4 in an academic quiz show. The winning school of the annual tournament will be awarded $5000, with the runner-up schools receiving $3000 and $1,000.
The Scholastic Scrimmage Lycoming County competition is made possible by a grant from the First Community Foundation Partnership. The series is underwritten by Pennsylvania College of Technology and Williams.
Participating schools for the upcoming tapings include Williamsport Area High School, Jersey Shore Area Senior High School, Montoursville Area High School, South Williamsport Area Junior/Senior High School, Hughesville High School (East Lycoming School District), Muncy Junior/Senior High School, Loyalsock Township High School and Montgomery Junior/Senior High School.
