The PBS Summer of Adventure continues with the premiere of WILD ALASKA LIVE, our next live natural history event in conjunction with the BBC. Vast, remote and wild, Alaska is a land of extremes. It is an arctic world where long, dark winters challenge even the heartiest creatures. For a scant few months in the summer, the sun barely sets on an explosion of wildlife on land and in the sea. From the beautiful mountains and tundra to the thousand-pound bears and majestic bald eagles, WILD ALASKA LIVE tells the tale of a remarkable moment in time, of the conservation successes and challenges of preserving this wilderness.
