Great Scenic Railway Journeys: 150 Years on the Right Track

For over a quarter of a century, Great Scenic Railway Journeys and its creator, Robert Van Camp, have captured the world of Tourist Railway Adventures. In this special we have selected favorite rail journeys. More than just a tour, these stories capture railroads as they defined the spirit of North America, creating a new industry and re-writing the history of transportation. Hosted by Grammy-winning musician and storyteller David Holt, we tell the unforgettable stories of historic and scenic tourist railroads from across the country. A number of these profiles have been updated since their original broadcast giving viewers an even more robust and inspiring viewing experience. 

 

Brit Floyd: 40 Years of The Wall

Brit Floyd, the world's greatest Pink Floyd tribute show, returns to the stage in 2019 with its most ambitious and best production yet, a very special 40th Anniversary retrospective of Pink Floyd's iconic rock opera, "The Wall." The Brit Floyd show has truly become a phenomenon, widely regarded as the world's greatest live tribute to Pink Floyd. Faithfully recreating the scale and pomp of the final 1994 Division Bell tour, complete with a stunning million dollar light show, large circle screen and arch plus moving lights, lasers, inflatables and theatrics Released in November 1979, a semi-autobiographical concept album from the mind of Pink Floyd founding member Roger Waters, The Wall remains one of the biggest selling albums of all time, and an important moment in Rock music history. As well as performing a host of musical highlights from The Wall, Brit Floyd will perform classic gems from "The Dark Side of the Moon, " "Wish You Were Here," "Animals" and "The Division Bell" plus lots more. Last of the Breed

Celebrate the greatest hits of Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Ray Price in this 2007 concert. With the richest voices this side of the Rio Grande, the three legends give rousing performances on a treasure trove of honky-tonk and Texas swing tunes. 

 

Waylon Jennings—The Outlaw Performance

Thursday, June 6th 9:30pm

At the pinnacle of the outlaw movement in country music, Waylon Jennings gave an exclusive performance in Nashville. The concert was taped but never released for broadcast. WAYLON JENNINGS: THE OUTLAW PERFORMANCE captures this hidden 1978 concert and features a 16-song set combined with Jennings' own words about his life and music. Songs include "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys," "This Time," "Good Hearted Woman," "Luckenbach, Texas," and "Are You Ready For The Country." 

 

Best of the Buddy Rich Show

The Best of The Buddy Rich Show is a collection of big band performances recorded in 1982 but never broadcast - in fact, never edited. In that year, the legendary drummer was offered the chance to host his own television program. Three programs were filmed at New York City's venerable Statler Hilton Hotel, each featuring Buddy Rich and his band with special guests: Ray Charles, Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton, Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, and Mel Torme. The best of these performances will be shared on public television in this unique, one of a kind special. 

 

Les Misérables Marathon

Sunday, June 9th beginning at 12pm

Dominic West (The Affair, The Wire) stars as Jean Valjean, and David Oyelowo (Selma, A United Kingdom) as Javert in this epic retelling of Victor Hugo's classic novel, "Les Miserables." They are joined by a host of Britain's most-talented actors, including Lily Collins (Rules Don't Apply) as Fantine, Olivia Colman (The Crown, Broadchurch) as Madam Thenardier, and Josh O'Connor (The Crown, The Durrells in Corfu)as Marius. This adaptation was scripted by Andrew Davies (Pride & Prejudice, War & Peace).  

 

Magic Moments—The Best of 50's Pop

Sunday, June 9th 8pm

Join hosts Phyllis McGuire, Pat Boone and Nick Clooney for a nostalgic trip back to the 1950s. Return to the era's pop music days with a mix of live performance and archival footage, including classic moments from favorite performers.  Encore: Saturday, June 15th 6pm

 

Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2

Monday, June 10th 8pm

Celebrate the legendary musical with a stellar cast including Alfie Boe, Nick Jonas, Lea Salonga, Colm Wilkinson, Norm Lewis and Ramin Karimloo. Staged by producer Cameron Mackintosh, the concert was filmed at London's O2 Arena. 

 

Mel Brooks & Carl Reiner Salute Sid Caesar

Saturday, June 15th 9pm

Comedy legends Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner look back on the career and genius of the late Sid Caesar in this new special culled from Your Show Of Shows and Caesar's Hour. Brooks and Reiner reminisce about some of their favorite moments working with Sid Caesar, one of the pioneers of TV sketch comedy rooted in the human condition. 70 years after the birth of television, Mel and Carl celebrate Sid - the influential comic trailblazer in Mel Brooks & Carl Reiner Salute Sid Caesar.
