Barletta to Hold U.S. Service Academy Information Fairs May 4th in Harrisburg, May 5th in Dallas

HARRISBURG – Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) will host information fairs in Harrisburg and Dallas this week for prospective nominees to United States service academies.  The information sessions, to be held on May 4th and 5th, will also feature a representative from Sen. Pat Toomey’s office and will be attended by officials from each of the five service academies: the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO; the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY.

Each information fair will allow interested students to gather information about opportunities at each academy.  Members of Congress are able to nominate deserving students from their individual Congressional Districts.

“There is no greater sacrifice an American can make than to serve our country in uniform,” Barletta said.  “It is also a high honor for a student to be considered for, and ultimately admitted to, one of our fine service academies.  These sessions are excellent opportunities for high school students to find out if these choices are for them.”

The two information sessions are as follows:
