Create your own website about a WWII Veteran and win a trip to Washington, DC!
The Veterans History Project relies on volunteers to collect and preserve stories of wartime service as well as those U.S. citizens who were actively involved in supporting war efforts (industry workers, USO, flight instructors, etc.) WWII veterans are dying at a rate of about 1000/day. We need your help to collect these First-hand accounts from those that were there (interviews, letters, etc) before this generation is gone forever.
Library of Congress Veterans History Project! Students are asked to design a website (“digital archive”) about a WWII veteran, group of veterans or civil servants. The website is to include historical context, photos and must come with an interview recording and/or first hand memoirs or correspondence. •WVIA will then send all photos, letters, artifacts, recordings and information to the VHP upon completion of the contest This is a great idea for a Scouting and/or graduation research project! DON’T MISS IT!! Click Here for info! |
