ABOUT THE FILM

Dancing is an integral part of every Native Alaskan culture. Stories, life lessons, and the history of people in Alaska are all told through movement and song. Haliehana Stepetin is a master Alaska Native dancer born in Akutan, AK. Stepetin has made it her life goal to promote and teach the many styles of dance found throughout the diverse Alaska Native cultures.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

John Norris is a senior video producer at Alaska Public Media and has been producing award‐winning video content in Alaska for over seven years. Norris’ work on the Indie Alaska series has garnered over a million views online. Outside of public media, Norris is the founder and organizer of the Anchorage 48‐Hour Film Challenge, one of the largest film events in Alaska.
