All That jazz
Produced and hosted by George Graham, All That Jazz presents an hour of straight-ahead acoustic jazz with the emphasis on today's finest performers. However, the pioneers of the great American music form are not neglected, with classic and rare recordings featured from the Adams Collection and the extensive WVIA-FM library.
All That Jazz also presents occasional Homegrown Jazz features, spot-lighting regional jazz performers recorded in the WVIA studios.
Northeastern Pennsylvania's premier jazz festival, the Delaware Water Gap Celebration of the Arts Celebrated its 30th edition in September, and for the 11th consecutive year, WVIA-FM (89.9) will provide comprehensive coverage of this unique community-based non-profit festival. This year's performers included many who appeared at the first festival in 1978, and include festival co-founder Phil Woods, Bob Dorough, John Coates, Urbie Green, Eric Doney, Nancy and Spencer Reed, the Jazz Artists Repertory Orchestra (JARO), plus performances by jazz pianist Bill Mays, the Absolute Trio, saxophone great David Liebman, plus up-and-coming young jazz musicians, and the annual performance by the COTA Cats student big-band.
George Graham will host more than 10 hours of coverage from the event, which will air on WVIA's All That Jazz, Monday through Friday November 5-9 and 12-16, from 7:00-8:00 PM. Highlights will also be featured during the Saturday editions of All That Jazz on November 10 and 17 from 10:00-11:00 PM. In addition to the music, the coverage will also include interviews with artists, festival volunteers and audience members.
