Classical Music has been a mainstay at WVIA since the station went on the air in 1973. Our on-air staff still meets daily to discuss some of the musical highlights of other dayparts and features of the FM program hosts, current arts events are mentioned, and letters as well as voices from the listening community share their feelings about the station, make classical requests, or air positive feedback about how WVIA has enriched their enjoyment of classical music. Those listeners who submit their feedback - along with those who have joined WVIA to support Classical Music - make up what we call our "Classical Club".

Soon, we'd like to begin having club events and activities - and would love your input and assistance to make them happen! If you're interested, please let us know.

Each weekday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., hosts Lisa Mazzarella, Erika Funke and Larry Vojtko choose and present the greatest music by the greatest composers.

Interspersed between the symphonies, concertos, and sonatas we present short informational features such as "The 90-second Naturalist", "The Pulse of the Planet", "The Writers' Almanac", "Earth and Sky" and "The Composers' Datebook".

From the newest classical releases to legendary recordings, WVIA-FM enchants the ear with great music presented by some of the most engaging personalities in public radio.
