Television - Local Programs

WVIA Ballroom

With Joey and Judi Shaver

Saturdays at 7 p.m. on WVIA-TV

Judi and Joey Shaver are notable hosts on WVIA. Over the years, our local newspapers have best described WVIA Ballroom as "the most elegant local program on television." Beautiful ladies dressed in exquisite, flowing gowns escorted by handsome gentlemen dressed to look their best in tuxedos, dance to the traditional standards of music. From the big band era, such as Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and Tony Bennett, to the modern recording artists of today, like Carlos Santana, Brian Setzer, Ricky Martin and Beyonce. Viewers are entertained by locally, trained dancers and local students of dance studios from the northeastern and central Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania.

The show is proud to exhibit viewers the elegant steps of the Fox Trot, Waltz, Swing, Rumba, Tango, Cha-Cha, Mambo/Salsa, and Samba. An audience of all ages can connect with the dancing, the elegant style, beautiful people, and of course, the music.

The WVIA Ballroom dancers have become personalities all on their own. They are recognized everywhere from supermarkets to sporting events. They are always approached by excited fans for autographs. We have even printed name cards for each dancer which read: "Thank you for watching me on Ballroom." One evening an executive for a local perfume manufacturing company was watching and decided to hire one of our dancers to launch a new fragrance named after a dance. Several of our dancers have even been contracted to perform exhibitions for private and commercial events.

There is no question about it, WVIA Ballroom is a hit! It is evidenced by the constant growth in audience and popularity year after year.WVIA Ballroom is a natural marketing vehicle for any business or manufacturer wishing to position themselves with talent, style, elegance, tradition, accomplishment, and perfection.
