Kathy Wang is a doctor with specialties in endocrinology & Chinese medicine and a practice in Kingston. She is a pianist who performs on the traditional Chinese instrument, the guzheng, as well.

Growing up during the Cultural Revolution in China, it was dangerous for her to study both classical and traditional music. Now 40 years later, Dr. Wang returned to Beijing to attend an international medical conference and to freely perform the music that had been forbidden in her youth.

Dr. Wang traveled with her husband Greg Dohly, keyboardist, composer & music director of their group, The New World Ensemble, and they paid a visit to the VIA studios to talk with Keystone Edition's Erika Funke about her early struggles to study music and the special return visit 4 decades later.
