Every 10 years the U.S. Census tries to count everyone in the nation, and this year’s massive effort is not just a statistical exercise. The results of the census determine where federal funding goes for housing, health, education, and other social services. The census affects your political representation in Congress, the state legislature, even school districts and voting precincts, and much more. VIA Public Media recently hosted a Census informational workshop for regional organizations, and we had a chance to talk with Stephen Shope, Supervisory Partnership Specialist from the Philadelphia Regional Census Center.
