When Fred Rogers was a child, he was calmed by the advice of his mother during scary times with a most unique distraction – to look for the helpers; to see the brave and good things they're doing to make others feel better.

During our COVID-19 crisis we've witnessed ordinary people doing an extraordinary thing – reaching out to help others in their own way, with a selfless level of love and concern.

We begin the first in a series of stories we're gathering to highlight the good efforts of the helpers, and what people are doing to bring some calm amid the coronavirus storm.

Today, we highlight VIA's Liz Tilley - a gifted artist who decided to make a pocket of extra time to help the first responders with a practical, yet creative flair.
