The 19th amendment was ratified on August 18, 1920, and to mark the centennial, Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre has launched an initiative titled, "Year of the Vote: Gender, Politics, & Power", that will include lectures, exhibitions, classroom discussions and, something they are very excited about--the production of monthly podcasts with guests from the region and around the country.

Heather Sincavage, Director of the Sordoni Gallery & Assistant Professor of Art; Lisa Reynolds, Assistant Professor of Digital Design and Media Art; and Dr. Ellen Newell, Associate Professor of Psychology at Wilkes, paid a visit to the VIA studios to talk with Erika Funke about the project.

“Year of the Vote: Gender, Politics & Power" is a year-long initiative that features lectures, exhibitions, special events and a series of monthly podcasts including guests from the region and around the country.
