NPR blogger and commentator John Ridley says the Hollywood writers' strike has already had quite an effect on life in Los Angeles — even on what can be talked about over lunch.
Ridley also finds himself caught between a rock and a hard place. A union rule requires members to turn in copies of works in progress during the strike, but a production company he works with claims the scripts he's working on are its property.
