Canadian Booksellers Take a Hit on Dual Pricing

Canadian booksellers are suffering with the rapid rise in value of the Canadian dollar.

The majority of books are "dual-priced" — they list both a U.S. price and a Canadian price, and the latter is always higher. Despite the rise of the Canadian dollar, or "loonie," booksellers haven't been able to persuade publishers or distributors to reduce the price disparity.

Audrey's Books in Edmonton recently announced it would charge U.S. prices for dual-priced books. Melissa talks with co-owner Steve Budnarchuk.
