Spain Fights Fla. Treasure Hunters' Shipwreck Claim

Lawyers for the Kingdom of Spain and a treasure hunting company based in Tampa, Fla., square off in federal court over what may be the most valuable shipwreck ever found.

The company, Odyssey Marine, which recovered the treasure last spring, is fighting to keep information about the find secret — to preserve the site from unscrupulous treasure hunters.

Spain believes the estimated half-billion dollars in silver and gold coins may be its property and that Odyssey Marine is withholding information that may show that to be the case.
