A Message from Carla McCabe, WVIA's President & CEO
This June, the incomparable Larry Vojtko will retire after 41 years of dedicated service as the voice of classical afternoons on WVIA Radio. It is a big milestone for Larry, and for us at WVIA, as Larry’s contributions to the Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania communities have been profound. As Larry trades in the music of Bach for beaches, we must answer an important question: What will WVIA Radio afternoons become in his absence? As always, we turned to our listeners and the mission of our station for guidance.
Beginning June 5th, WVIA will offer our listeners and loyal supporters more news, arts, and information than ever before. We are excited to bring you along as we embark on this next chapter and reimagine our radio lineup. Of course, you will still hear familiar voices like Erika, Lisa, and George, in addition to the new voices like Sarah Scinto and Tom Riese you have begun to recognize over the past year during Morning Edition and All Things Considered. This expansion and commitment to local journalism is our response to the needs and interests of our listeners and members. We will continue to explore and experiment in this ever-changing media landscape in order to stay relevant and deepen our roots within the community.
As we align our programming to maximize your listening experience, we want to hear from you. We encourage you to tune in to all of our offerings and let us know what you think. You can always find more information about programming and our services to the community at wvia.org and I encourage you to use our feedback tool to share your thoughts.

This year, WVIA Radio is celebrating its 50th anniversary. As we reflect on how far we’ve come, I would like to thank you for your continued support. All of our success is because of you, and we look forward to continuing to inform, engage, and entertain you while sharing the very best of Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania with the world.
Please join me in congratulating Larry on his retirement and thanking him for his years of service to WVIA and our community.
