The Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office honored the City of Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.
The city received a Community Initiative Award for its Walkitecture Stepping Through History tour.
The 2.2 mile walk through Wilkes-Barre’s historic district highlights local history and architecture.
A companion booklet or the free Walkitecture mobile app provides information to tourists or interested residents along the walk.
The Wilkes-Barre Preservation Society supplied the information used in the self-guided tour.
