Environmental News covers a lot of ground. Community News covers it all. January began with the shooting of a Scranton Police officer who made a miraculous recovery. In between, more trail projects began or continued. Community members pressed on to come up with innovative ideas and events, while solutions were sought for environmental issues.

The Wellsboro Gazette, a weekly newspaper in Tioga County, celebrates a rare milestone this month: 150 years of publication.As newspapers around the state and country shut down or decrease staff and publication days, the Wellsboro Gazette has remained.WVIA's Kat Bolus spent a few days with the staff in Wellsboro.

The Wellsboro Gazette newspaper is celebrating its 150th anniversary of continuous publication on Oct. 29.
