Williamsport receives DCNR funds for green infrastructure
Williamsport received $70,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) for a green infrastructure plan.
Mayor Derek Slaughter said in a statement that the funds will be used to “update a 16-year-old master plan and incorporate increased accessibility, connectivity, and emerging recreation trends” throughout Williamsport.
The city said there will be opportunities for residents to give feedback on improvement plans. Information on a public engagement period was not listed in the statement, but updates will be shared when the feedback period is announced.
The DCNR grant is part of a Community Conservation Partnerships Program, which has invested $90 million across the commonwealth to fund 330 projects.
