WVIA is proud to support families, educators, and students through a wide variety of programs and events. Our team of PA certified educators consists of Senior Director Vicki Austin, Director Alissa Swarts, and Program Manager Teresa Sabecky.

Our mission is to:

  • Prepare children for success in school and life, and encourage parents to take an active role in their children’s education with PBS KIDS programming and educational content and experiences.
  • Engage students in learning through our Enhanced Scholar Program, which includes Artist of the Week, Scholastic Scrimmage, PBS Kids in the Classroom, and the Great Teachers Essay Contest.
  • Introduce young adults to careers and the 21st century business world via our Careers that Work resources
  • Provide educators with high-quality classroom resources including those available through PBS LearningMedia, as well as professional development opportunities.
