Democratic U.S. Sen. Bob Casey has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The 62-year-old senator from Pennsylvania revealed the diagnosis in a statement Thursday, Jan. 5. He said he has an “excellent prognosis” and will undergo surgery in the coming months.
“I am expected to make a full recovery,” Casey said.
Casey said he received the diagnosis last month. He expressed confidence that he will be able to serve in congress with “minimal disruption.”
