WVIA Fall Family Day at Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour & Anthracite Heritage Museum

WVIA will be hosting our annual Family Day for our active members at the Lackawanna County Coal Mine Tour and Anthracite Heritage Museum.

Choose from 4 dates available: November 6th and 7th, 13th and 14th!

Member Check In is from 10AM to 2PM sharp each day.

Follow the WVIA signs to our Member Check In Area, located in the lobby of the Lackawanna County Coal Mine Tour.

Registration

Registration information will be emailed to the email listed on your account. 
Each link is only valid for one use.

You can print your tickets OR show them on your mobile device for entry. If you have any difficulty or have not received the email, WVIA Staff will be on hand at the event to assist you.

Quick Facts

The temperature in the mine is 53° year round.  Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended. 

The descent down the slope takes 3-4 minutes. The walking portion of the tour is approximately a 1/2 mile and lasts one hour.

The mine is handicapped accessible with some restrictions.  A handout has been prepared for the hearing impaired who are not accompanied by an interpreter. Please call or e-mail for specific limitations on accessibility.

The Lackawanna County Coal Mine Tour and Anthracite Heritage Museum have taken enhanced health and safety measures against COVID-19 for you, other guests, and staff. You must follow all posted instructions during your visit. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting the Lackawanna County Coal Mine Tour and Anthracite Heritage Museum, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

WVIA Members and guests attending WVIA Member Day events will be required to comply with all restrictions and safety measures imposed and/or implemented by the event venue, including any COVID-19 vaccination and/or mask requirements. WVIA Members should visit the event venue’s website for specific information on Covid-19 health and safety protocols. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present and there is no guarantee that WVIA members and guests will not be exposed to COVID-19 at a WVIA Member Day event.  By participating in a WVIA Member Day event, WVIA members and guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
