Guided hikes will be held at public lands across Pennsylvania on New Years Day.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is hosting around 60 hikes in 34 state parks and three forest districts, including locally, as part of the national “First Day Hike” effort.
The hikes will be held during daylight hours and are around one or two miles but can be longer depending on the park and its terrain, according to the state.
