Putting an R Rating on Smoking in Movies

NPR's Scott Horsley reports that when it comes to promoting cigarettes to young people, movies have picked up where Joe Camel left off. Research shows that smoking makes at least a cameo appearance in three out of four hit movies, and that smoking on screen has increased particularly in films rated PG-13. A group of socially conscious investors is now urging Hollywood to put an R rating on movies that include smoking.
