Harrison Schmitt, the lunar pilot for the December 1972 Apollo 17 mission, was one of the last people to walk on the moon. He now runs a company called Interlune Intermars Initiative, Inc., and advocates returning to the moon. NPR's Melissa Block, host of All Things Considered, talks with Schmitt, who says establishing a permanent presence on the moon would lead to improvements for life on Earth.
