MELISSA BLOCK, Host:
From NPR News, this is ALL THINGS CONSIDERED. I'm Melissa Block.
MICHELE NORRIS, Host:
Now to your letters. We begin with a correction to a story we brought you last week about the murder and decapitation of Aasiya Hassan.
BLOCK: We said that the National Organization for Women had first raised the idea that the murder may have been a so-called honor killing. Well, that statement did not come from the National Organization, but from Marcia Pappas, president of the New York state chapter of NOW.
NORRIS: He writes, it's not about Islam. It's about the vicious murder of a woman in the U.S., not some other land. Stop letting these acts get explained away and then divert the attention to the supposed unfair treatment of Islam.
BLOCK: The conversation struck a personal chord with Nyla Kahn(ph) of Aurora, Illinois. She writes, I greatly admire Hamaza Yusuf and appreciate NPR going out of the way to clear up inaccurate information about Muslims, Islam and the combination of the two. So thank you for allowing me to breathe a sigh of relief.
NORRIS: Relief is a good thing, but whether or not you like what you hear, we want to hear from you. Visit npr.org and click contact us at the top of the page. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
