Eastern Michigan University President John Fallon has been fired after a controversy surrounding the school's handling of a student's rape and murder in her dorm room last year.
Top university officials initially told the media there was no foul play and that the student had died of asphyxiation. When murder charges were later filed against another EMU student, the parents of the slain girl accused the university of a cover-up.
