Have Business Schools Strayed from Their Mission?

There's a growing debate about whether the nation's business schools are fulfilling their original mission.

At one time, the schools were to train a professional class of responsible business leaders to serve society. But some say business schools have strayed from that goal and are now turning out consultants and hedge-fund hotshots obsessed with maximizing quarterly profits.

The debate is fueled by a sharp critique from inside one of the nation's top business schools.
