Former President Donald Trump will be at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre Twp. on Saturday for a rally.
Doors open for the event at 2 p.m. with Trump expected to speak at 7 p.m.
Wilkes-Barre Twp. police say the parking lot of the arena will open at 8 a.m. and they recommend non-arena traffic use alternate routes. Highland Park Boulevard will be closed to traffic during Trump’s arrival and departure, and police say to expect congestion and delays throughout the day on the boulevard and Mundy Street around the Wyoming Valley Mall.
They recommend anyone headed to the area from Spring Street or Kidder Street use the arena access road on Mundy Street rather than Highland Park Blvd.
PennDOT is warning travelers to expect traffic disruptions on I-81 southbound between exit 180 and exit 168 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; and I-81 northbound between the same exits from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
