The Scranton Rail Restoration Coalition is asking supporters of restoring passenger train service between Scranton and New York City to sign a petition.
The petition closes on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The coalition plans to send it to the Federal Railroad Administration. That department chooses what projects will be funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which includes billions for rail service.
As of Friday, Jan. 27, the petition had 6,839 signatures — or 88% of the organization’s goal.
