The city of Williamsport is partnering with local colleges and a community center to host an event in honor of Black History Month.
Williamsport Mayor Derek Slaughter said in a statement that Penn College, Lycoming College and UPMC will host A Night of Empowerment: Conversations with Black Professionals on Feb. 18 at the city’s Community Arts Center, 220 W. 4th St.
Doors open at 4:45 p.m. with a networking opportunity for high school and college students with industry partners until and the panel discussion begins at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and runs until 8 p.m.
