Lackawanna County unveiled plans on Wednesday, Feb. 15, to create a Water Recreation Complex at McDade Park.
Scheduled to be completed by July 1, the project will renovate the existing pool.
The pool’s deep end depth will be reduced from 14-feet to eight-feet; structural deficiencies will be repaired; and a new bath house and pump house will be constructed, according to a release from the county.
A splash pad will also be added and installed in concrete. The pad equipment has been in storage since last fall.
Cost of the project is more than $3.1 million. Lackawanna County received over $270,000 in grants for the complex. The rest of the costs will be covered by American Rescue Plan Act funds.
There will be no charge to use the complex.
