Pennsylvania State Police will conduct DUI sobriety checkpoints and roving DUI patrols throughout Luzerne County the weekend of March 10 through March 12.
State Police Troop P of Wilkes-Barre said in a statement they will conduct the checkpoints on roadways that have had high rates of DUI related traffic violations and vehicle crashes.
Pennsylvania’s DUI laws prescribe a legal limit of .08 percent blood alcohol concentration. Penalties for a DUI can range from a $300 fine with six months probation to fines of $5,000 with prison sentences of up to five years.
