Visual artists and musicians will join organizers in downtown Scranton to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility on Friday.
Groups including the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Wyoming Valley, Queer NEPA, Action Together NEPA and Northeastern Pennsylvania Democratic Socialists of America will convene for a showcase of music and the arts on March 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Courthouse Square in Scranton.
Organizing partner NEPA Stands Up said in a statement, the event will “celebrate the joyous aspects of the trans experience that are too often overshadowed by today's political climate.”
The international day of celebration was first observed in 2009.
