Sarkozy Signals Friendlier Era in French-U.S. Ties

French President Nicolas Sarkozy got a warm reception at a joint meeting of Congress, and he signaled a new, friendlier tone in U.S.-French relations. Sarkozy said he supports the U.S. in its war on terrorism but he also challenged the U.S. on the issue of global warming.

President Bush and Sarkozy are scheduled to meet Wednesday.
