The lead-up to Saturday's presidential election in Nigeria has been chaotic. Vice President Atiku Abubakar, running as an opposition candidate, was initially ruled ineligible because of corruption allegations — before being ruled eligible by Nigeria's top court.
But the national ballots have already been distributed around the country, and now they all have to be retro-fitted to include his name.
If that doesn't happen, Abubakar may demand that Saturday's election be annulled. Many opposition parties want the elections postponed altogether.
Meanwhile, open-air rallies have been banned for security reasons, and accusations are flying from all sides. The historic first handover of power from one elected leader to another since Nigeria gained independence is threatening to be a complicated transition.
