Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif returned to his hometown of Lahore on Sunday from exile in Saudi Arabia and was greeted by thousands of supporters. His return follows that of another former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, who was also in exile for years.

Sharif called on President Pervez Musharraf to end the state of emergency in the country before elections scheduled for January. Jackie Northam, who is following the story from Islamabad, talks to Andrea Seabrook.
