Candidates Clash Over Iraq Withdrawal

/
/

Troop levels in Iraq are a major political issue in the 2008 presidential election. Both Democratic hopefuls say they will withdraw troops, while Republicans believe the U.S. should stay put. Two military experts with different points of view discuss the merits and logistics of staying in, or withdrawing from, the war zone.

Col. Douglas MacGregor, a decorated combat veteran, says it's time for the U.S. to leave Iraq. Gen. Barry McCaffrey, retired army general and professor at the U.S. Military Academy, explains why he thinks the U.S. needs to stay and finish the job.
