Clinton, Obama Combat Perceived Weaknesses

Two of the top three Democratic contenders for the presidential nomination were campaigning Tuesday in Iowa — and each had special guests to help them address perceived deficiencies in their bids for the White House.

Barack Obama was asserting his "readiness" for office, saying he would change foreign policy and protect national security. He had several former officials with him, including Anthony Lake, National Security adviser to President Clinton, and Susan Rice, former assistant secretary of state for African affairs, also under President Clinton.

Meantime, Hillary Clinton was trying to show her more personable side. She visited a store with her husband and the basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson. A crowd of young basketball players was attentive to the power couple, but they were awed by Johnson.

David Greene and Robert Smith, on the ground with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, talk with Michelle Norris.
