Rick Wagoner on the future of General Motors

General Motors has made an unexpectedly strong showing at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The company made headlines with its rollout of an electric concept car, called the Chevy Volt.

And the top awards given at the show, for best car and best truck, went to GM products, the Saturn Aura and the Chevy Silverado. The sparkle and glitz of the auto-show floor might help to blur some of the company's serious financial troubles. But it doesn't change the fundamental challenges the company faces in 2007.

General Motors is at risk of becoming the No. 2 auto company, behind Toyota, this year. And a huge overhead of health benefits for former workers is seriously hampering GM's cash flow.

Michele Norris talks with GM chairman Rick Wagoner.
