NPR's business news starts with eBay's bid for Asian traders.

INSKEEP: EBay is the world's largest online auction site and one of the ways it's grown is by swallowing up auctions sites in other countries. It may soon take another bite, this time in South Korea. The Wall Street Journal reports that eBay has reached a tentative deal to buy a controlling stake in South Korea's largest online auctioneer. If Korean regulators approve this deal, eBay would be the top e-commerce player in that highly wired Asian country.
Gaining customers in others parts of Asia has not been so easy. A move in Japan earlier this decade ended in failure for eBay because Yahoo was too well established. EBay has also been battling domestic online auction sites in China. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
