NPR's business news starts with the Hummer deal possibly on hold.

GREENE: A government radio station in China says top officials there are likely to reject a Chinese company's plan to buy GM's Hummer division. The reason, apparently, is that the giant gas guzzler does not fit in with Beijing's environmental goals. China National Radio also says officials are concerned that the private construction machinery maker, which emerged as a dark horse buyer, lacked the expertise to run Hummer. If this is true, the move would be a blow to GM, which is trying to offload Hummer as part of its plan to restructure and reinvent itself. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
