Two eastern Pennsylvania U.S. congress members are part of a bipartisan bill that would aid hospitals across the country.
Susan Wild of PA District 7 and Dan Meuser of District 9 introduced the Fairness for Rural Teaching Hospitals Act.
The bill aims to direct more money toward rural teaching hospitals by updating calculations used by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
St. Luke’s Miners Memorial and St. Luke’s Easton Campus along with 136 other rural hospitals would “receive a higher and fairer reimbursement” if the bill is passed, according to a U.S. House statement.
