A Scranton native killed during World War II will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery later this month.
Twenty-five-year-old Army Pfc. Francis P. Martin with the 45th Infantry Division went missing Jan. 16, 1945 near the border of Germany and France, according to the U.S. Army.
Ambushed by German forces, he was on a truck convoy carrying rations.
Medical analysis finally accounted for Martin last June, when the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency identified his remains in an American cemetery in Belgium.
Graveside services will be held on March 24 at the national cemetery.
