The state Attorney General’s Office announced Thursday a nurse practitioner in Bradford County has been sentenced to ten years of restrictive probation and ordered to pay $450,000 in restitution.
Stefanie King of Ulster Township pleaded guilty last month to false billing and writing thousands of prescriptions without a collaborating doctor, AG Michelle Henry said in statement.
Prosecutors said King also billed a private insurer for time spent with a patient that wasn’t related to medical care after the two became involved in a relationship.
In addition to surrendering her nursing license, King was also sentenced to six months of home confinement with an electronic monitor.
