When several of his friends from baseball joined an orchestra, Nathan Meltzer joined them and chose the violin simply because it was easy to carry to and from school. Now a Juilliard alum, Meltzer enjoys working with contemporary composers. He performs a piece by Béla Bartók and discusses Bartók’s folk music inspiration and his desire to preserve Hungary’s musical legacy.
